Définition

A method of farming in which the goal is to optimize purchased inputs to produce outputs at the least cost.

Description

Intensive farming is often opposed to sustainable agriculture, a method in which "crops are selected for local markets, rather than for resistance to shipping damage, and for local climate and soil conditions, rather than for standardized green revolution seeds and technologies."
