Définition

Cultivation of a single crop in a given area, such as a field or an agricultural region, or the result of this type of practice.

Description

"Monoculture means the use of land for growing only one type of plant, or the plant culture that results from such use. The practice of monoculture on a landscape thus has an effect that is the opposite of biodiversity, and can sometimes be responsible for the spread of plant diseases."
