Third sector

An economic and social space occupied by voluntary and nonprofit organizations, as distinct from the business and public sectors.

The third sector includes non-profit, non-governmental organisations in the social economy. It encompasses volunteer and charity activities and contributes to many industries including community health services, rural, education, housing, sport and recreation, culture and finance.
