Producer cooperative

A cooperative that belongs to producers, to whom it offers goods and services related to their occupation.

Producer cooperatives may supply members with goods and services required for work purposes or they may process and market member products. They may also take the form of purchasing groups and farm equipment and labor pools. Producer cooperatives are found mainly in the agrifood industry, the taxi industry, and the business services sector.
