Sourcing location

The place (country or region) where intermediate inputs or services are acquired.

The sourcing location may be inside the country of the buying firm (domestic sourcing) or outside (foreign sourcing). Moreover, the firm may procure internally, i.e. within the company and/or its affiliates, (insourcing) or externally, i.e. from outside companies (outsourcing).
