Description

Employment status may refer to a work situation (full-time, part-time, or seasonal employment) or a non-work situation (retirement, studies, or unemployment).

The employment status of civilian, non-institutionalized individuals in the population is defined by whether or not they are considered to be part of the labour force. If they are employed either full-time or part-time or are unemployed and looking for work, they are deemed to be part of the labour force.
